June 2025 did more than just bring chilly winds – it ignited a spark of youth leadership across seven (7) high schools under Zombodze Emuva and Matsanjeni South constituencies. On the 7th and 14th of June, NATICC led electrifying one-day workshops that transformed eager teenagers into confident peer educators, ready to lead with purpose and passion. This wasn’t just another classroom session, it was a vibrant space of conversations, ideas, laughter, and powerful realizations. It wasn’t about teaching – it was about transforming.
Why Teen Clubs? Because Teens Deserve a Voice
Teen Clubs are more than a program – they’re a movement. In every session, young people are given a safe space to discuss the real issues they face: peer pressure, relationships, mental health, future dreams, and more. It’s a place where they can learn, express, and connect without judgment.
Through Teen Clubs, students:
- Build confidence and communication skills
- Explore personal values and goals
- Learn about sexual and reproductive health in relatable ways
- Strengthen peer support and positive friendships
- Become leaders in shaping healthier school environments
At the heart of this movement are the peer educators – teens who step up to guide, listen, and inspire.

From One-Time Talks to Lasting Impact
For years, NATICC has hosted school dialogues that raised awareness on critical issues. But something was missing – consistency. Unlike short-lived events, Teen Clubs are ongoing, structured, and teen-led. They allow learners to grow, reflect, and lead over time. The benefits are clear:
A comfortable space to discuss sensitive topics
By embedding these conversations in schools and empowering students to lead them, Teen Clubs shift youth programming from event-based to impact-based.
Sustained learning and membership
Deeper connections among teens and educators
Practical, lifelong skills development
A Story of Resilience: Eric Rosenberg High’s Peer
Educator Inspires
One of the most powerful moments of the workshop was hearing from a seasoned peer educator from Eric Rosenberg High School – a school already running a thriving Teen Club. The speaker shared their journey: from a small, uncertain group to a vibrant, impactful club. They talked about creative engagement strategies – like drama performances – that kept members excited and involved.
But it wasn’t always easy. They faced low attendance, peer resistance, and doubts – yet they persisted. Their story proved that passion, patience, and teamwork can turn challenges into triumphs.
