Child Protection Unit
Through our child protection unit, the organization seeks to ensure that all forms of Violence Against Children (VAC) are eliminated in our society and children enjoy life in all its fullness. This is achieved by providing VAC prevention and impact mitigation services. The unit empowers community leaders, parents, caregivers, congregants, and learners with relevant knowledge on the key national human rights legislation such as SODVA of 2018, CPWA of 2012, Marriage Act of 1964 etc.
Moreover, the department works closely with the judiciary to ensure that child abuse survivors smoothly navigate the criminal justice system. To ensure that survivors get legal redress, the unit provides legal and psychological first aid, court preparation, and court support. This service ensures that legal impunity for perpetrators is avoided at all costs. Furthermore, the unit ensures that survivors navigate the legal processes comfortably by providing some of their psychological needs.
